Agency Life Internship 2015 Employers Info Event

So we are once again planning for Agency Life internship students and invite you to come and join us for a glass of wine and a nibble,  and find out how you can give a home to an Agency Life student.

We’re rolling out our V3.0 of exciting programme for Level 5 students this September 2015 and we desperately need your help.

How to book?

Book via Eventbrite using this link:

Who should come?

Agency heads and managers, company directors, managers of client-side comms departments. Public, private or 3rd sector. Anyone who wants to give a student a chance

What’s it about?

Agency Life is a Level 5 2nd Year unit for students studying in the Department of Marketing, Operations and Digital Business at MMU Business School. This unit is designed to introduce undergraduates to the experience of working in a busy advertising, marketing, PR or digital agency, or a busy advertising, marketing, PR or digital department within a large organisation as part of a structured programme of learning.

Students spend 2 terms working with a real organisation and get exposed to the real everyday experiences of operating in a busy environment. They will be assessed on their professionalism as practitioners as well as on the things they produce in the workplace.

Students are expected to spend about a day per week working within an agency or comms department environment.

Final grades are determined by a combination of employer and tutor assessment. Employer involvement in the assessment of the agency experience element constitutes a large proportion of the grades.

Students come out of Agency Life with the confidence to face employment knowing they have real work experience – this sets them up for 3rd year placements, internships and graduate roles after their final year with a real understanding and expectation of real working life.

We’d like to talk to you more about becoming an Agency Life host employer. Naturally we can’t come and see every single company because time won’t let us – but come to this event and find out more, sign up to our register of firms and meet some of the other companies and organisations who have already committed to providing the kind of experience you demand from graduates. You’ll meet our Head of Department and the delivery team (Sarah).

We’ll be able to answer lots of specific questions, give advice, let you see some of the successes of the pilot programme (and tell you where the problems were), and hopefully get you to sign up to this exciting adventure.

Street Parking is tight, rare or pricey:

  • After 5 pm it is possible to park on the Chester Road MMU car park, access off Chester Street. Spaces are limited.
  • There is some free street parking around the University but it is limited to 2 hours before 8pm.
  • You can park at Aquatics relatively cheaply or Chester Street Car Parks.
  • Your best bet is by taxi or foot, number 2 Metro Bus to Chester Street/Oxford Road or Train to Oxford Road Station which is 5 minutes from our doors
